Head Lice

Head lice are small, wingless insects that attach themselves to shafts of hair and feed off human blood obtained from the scalp. Adult female lice lay their eggs on the hair shaft near to the scalp. The young lice hatch and leave white, shiny cases (nits) on the hair particularly above and behind the ears and at the back of the neck. These can be removed by a fine tooth comb but the lice need to be treated by one of the newer, easy to apply treatments. Modern products are skin friendly, contain no pesticides and have a pleasant odour.
