Micralax enemas are rectal laxatives for relieving mild to moderate constipation. The laxative liquid in Micralax is injected directly into the back passage (anus) from the single dose plastic tubes. The enemas then work quickly by drawing water into the lower bowel. This softens the contents which makes it much easier to empty your bowels.

Active ingredients: sodium citrate 450mg and sodium alkylsulphoacetate 45mg. Other ingredients: sorbitol solution, glycerol, sorbic acid, purified water.
Wash hands thoroughly using warm water and soap. You may opt to use gloves. Position yourself comfortably. Lying on your left side with feet level or slightly elevated is the best position for inserting an enema. When ready, twist and pull off the cap. Use water soluble lubricant to coat the nozzle. Alternatively, you can squeeze a drop of the liquid out of the tube to lubricate the tip of the nozzle, if required. Insert the nozzle fully into the anus (back passage). Squeeze out the contents fully. Keeping the tube squeezed tightly, withdraw the nozzle. Lie still and hold the enema inside the back passage for 5-15 minutes. Remember to wash your hands again with soap and water after your bowel movement.
The enema should only be used once a day at the most. Excessive use of Micralax may cause diarrhoea or loss of fluid. Read full instructions and cautions before use.
