Looking After Your Feet This Spring: Some Tips

Okay, so we may not be getting out in the elements as much now we're all social distancing, but your skin on your feet may still require a little TLC. So, why not see this period of isolation as a chance to pamper yourself from top to toe - quite literally - and ensure you're feeling ready for the sunnier weather, once it rolls around?

We'll start with your feet, by bringing you some top tips for keeping them in great condition ahead of hazy summer days. Read on...

Grab a Pumice Stone

Add a pumice stone to your regular footcare routine and you'll be able to look forward to smooth and healthy-looking feet in no time. This one is currently under £2 and it'll help you achieve smooth skin by removing hard and rough edges on soles of your feet - and even your knees.

Begin by soaking your feet in lukewarm water for 10 to 15 minutes to soften your skin. Now, it may tickle a bit elsewhere on your foot, but grab the stone and gently remove the thickened skin with your pumice stone.

Moisturise Dry Skin

Are your heels dry and cracked? If so, you need a good moisturiser. O'Keeffe's Healthy Feet Foot Cream is a highly effective product for extremely dry skin that frequently cracks - take a look here and give it a go if you'd like to pamper and preen your tootsies.

Tackle Fungal Infections

If it isn't dry, cracked skin you're dealing with but a full-blown fungal foot infection, make sure you tackle that head-on first. We have all kinds of products here on the site ready to help you battle that infection - have a browse.

If you have athlete's foot, look at something like Scholl's Athlete's Foot Liquid Spray, which will soothe and cool, prevent reinfection and relieve itching and soreness.

If you have a verruca or wart, try this Wartie Advanced Wart and Verruca Remover.

Warts, or common warts as they are sometimes known, often appear on fingers, back of the hands, knees and elbows and on top of the toes. Recognisable by the rough, mosaic texture or, in more severe cases, a cauliflower-like formation, the wart virus is highly contagious and is spread by direct contact, so early treatment is recommended.

If you think you have a wart or verruca, give this a go and make sure your feet are more than summer-ready. Go on; dig out your sandals and let's hope we're free of the coronavirus when the sun well and truly comes to say hello.

Preen!

So, you've rid your feet of infection and ensured they're well moisturised and free of dry skin. Now, it's time to give them a mini makeover, thanks to our extensive range of nail care products These Elegant Touch nail scissors will help you keep your toenails neat and tidy, while this innovative Nailner Fungal Nail Infection Treat and Colour kit will help you keep nails looking manicured while you fight any infection which may still be hanging around.

If your feet have a clean bill of health, though, dig out your favourite nail polish and give them a coat or two of something vibrant. That'll cheer you up no end this spring!

Until next time...
