Verrugon Complete Verruca Treatment is applied to treat verrucas, commonly seen on the soles of your feet. The active ingredient Salicylic acid works by breaking down keratin, which forms part of the structure of the skin.
A verruca is a wart on the foot (plantar wart) caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). They commonly occur on the soles of the feet and toes. Verruca can be contagious and transmitted through direct person-to-person contact. They tend to be common in children, teenagers, young adults and people who use communal changing rooms. Verrugon Complete Verruca Treatment treats verruca using the active ingredient Salicylic acid. It works by breaking down keratin, which forms part of the structure of the skin. In the treatment of verrucas, the effect of salicylic acid is to remove the affected skin over a period of time, if successful the new skin that grows underneath will be healthy. This pack contains ointment, emery board, 9 plasters and 9 corn rings.
Patients should apply Verrugon Complete Treatment carefully to the wart and to protect surrounding skin (e.g. with soft paraffin or specially designed plaster); rub wart surface gently with file or pumice stone once weekly.
Adults and children over 6 years - Fix the self-adhesive ring over the verruca, then squeeze a little ointment into the hole, directly onto the verruca. Cover the ring completely with the plaster provided and seal it into position. Remember to wash hands after use and repeat this treatment daily after gently pumicing or filing off the dead part of the verruca.
If the verruca is still not removed after 12 weeks of treatment, or acute pain or discomfort occurs during treatment, then please seek medical advice.
